Journal Response, Assignment 2

The video of AdventureX 2015 - Panel: This story isn't for you breaks down the very cliche ideas born with the creation of many games. The part that spoke to me the most was where they started to lay down the classic format of how the majority of any games range from—making the player feel that they are the chosen one where all decisions they make change the game's outcome where they must save themselves and/or those they are accompanied with in the game. This mostly relates to adventure games but can honestly be compared to many other games to something as simple as Pac-man. The player is the chosen one against the enemy ghost with the task being to collect all orbs to continue on to the next level. There's no real story behind it but this story forms within the player themselves which stems from the initial concept of game theory.
